Soil Management
Quality of soil can be a limiting factor to production. Soil quality can be calculated against several factors including compaction, nutrients and pH.
Soil quality can have disparities for different uses, for example, good quality soil for grass may not be optimum for wheat production.
Furthermore, different regions and areas will have different soil qualities due to topography and natural lay of the land.
Soil is such an important part of growing a successful crop and has been looked at in depth during the Monitor Farm programme.
