The July meeting focussed on ewe management at weaning and planning ahead for the next year. The farmers also had a chance to view the spring barley plots that had been undersown with varying grass types. The aim was to meet the needs for greening but also to provide useful grazing without compromising cereal yield. The summary of the trial is here.
The December 2017 meeting reviewed the cattle enterprise and included a wash up from the 2017 harvest. Costs and figures to help future decisions on calving date and bulling were presented.
